Views of the Child Reports

Now more than ever, children want to be heard! This service is a helpful way for children to have a voice in their parent's separation/divorce. A Views of the Child Report often promotes settlement in a family court matter. This service is relatively non-intrusive, inexpensive and brief (approximately 30 days), and can be court-ordered, or agreed upon by the parents.

The process typically involves reviewing relevant court documents and conducting interviews with each child over several weeks. The children’s views and preferences are canvassed about a number of subjects within the separation and divorce framework. A brief Report is then completed, and provided to the parents and, if applicable, their counsel and court.
